Facing A BPD Trigger
Sometimes, certain situations can cause a "trigger", or a flare-up of symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD). What can you do when you have to face a trigger?
More Than Borderline's, Becky Oberg, explores a possible answer in this video.

Hi, For some reason I can't view the videos on here from my tablet or computer. Any idea why.
I am currently in a Dialectical Behavior Therapy Day Program. I think DBT is pretty awesome. Other ways of coping with triggers would be mindfulness practices, distress tolerance skills, and radical acceptance. Or trying to change the situation and using Wise Mind.
I do not have borderline- but I do have some characteristics. I have a mood disorder. I just think DBT is like emotional kindergarten- it is what "other people" learned to do automatically, and some of us didn't. It is so useful.
