Hello Healthy Place

Hello

I used to belong to healthyplace back in 2001-2002 (under another username) for a couple years I was very active. When the chat site closed a friend of mine asked me to join another site which I still belong too and participate regularly. Last week another one of my friends asked me if I had checked out HealthyPlace recently. Upon visiting I seen that you are all active, bright and shiny. It warms my heart to see you are back full steam ahead. I do not know if I will be as regular a member as I once was. Life has been good to me over the last couple of years. I am still disablied but I volunteer three to four days a week at a local hospital and at the local volunteer center. I have been able to keep practising the knowledge that I learned so many years ago in my DBT therapy. For me DBT was a life saver and the beginning of my recovery in earnest. Both my sons are grown now and I have three granddaughters 2 that are 4 years old and one that is 2 years old. For me , recovery is a series of daily habits similar to other life habits of showering, eating, grooming and so on but these daily habits involve sleep regulation, mood tracking, socializing so I do not isolate, and involvement in activities outside my life. I try not to take life so serious all the time, and try to understand that while I may never be "cured" of my mental health issues I can work towards finding a balanced life and live my life as simply me.

I hope you all have a good day.
