Bipolar Disorder and Feeling Things So Deeply

Living with bipolar 2 disorder, I feel things very deeply. I’m a very emotionally driven person.

Let me give you an example of what I mean by that. Some people make decisions based on what they know, their knowledge. I make a lot of decisions based on how I feel. While I realize that can lead to problems and that not everyone reacts based on their emotions, that’s me. However, I am working on finding balance.

There’s an interesting flip side to this. Many people describe depression as extreme sadness. In my experience living with bipolar 2 disorder, depression is feeling empty of emotion and completely numb to the world. I always ask: “Which is worse, numbness or extreme sadness?” Not being able to feel emotions is so unfamiliar and uncomfortable to me. I talk more about that in the video.

Is feeling things so deeply a part of your bipolar disorder experience? Please share your thoughts or do a response video and send it into info@healthyplace.com. See you next week! Hannah
