Getting hit by the bug

'I enjoy convalescence. It is the part that makes the illness worth while.' - George Bernard Shaw
Before I was hospitalized for BPD, I would sleep anywhere from 2-6 hours, usually on the lower end. I'm sure that, and living in a depressive state, contributed to a weakened immune system. Now after a month of feeling blah physically, I'm down with cold & flu like symptoms. Today it hit hard, and I'm pushing fluids and taking meds.
I ignored the symptoms of coughing and some achiness because I figured that if I ate right, slept right, and was patient, it would all go away on its own. Hindsight says something else. If I had been kind to myself (coping skill) I would have sought professional treatment after 7 days, the normal time it takes for bacterial or viral infections to run their course.
I've got a plan to get professional treatment tomorrow. Until then I'm sucking up fluids and snuggling with my dog.
