Conquering demotivation

'Start off every day with a smile and get it over with.' - W.C. Fields

Today I'm very run down physically.  Blah!  I've got a cold.  I just want to crawl back into bed and let my body recover!

Instead, I committed to helping a friend with a project that's time sensitive, and have about two hours to finish it.  I find it completely boring and just can't put my heart into it.  On days like these I don't even know where to start as far as motivating myself.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update:   I did finally get the project finished.  I started with something I liked instead (I played music) which helped to get me out of the funk.  I imagined (coping skill) how good I would feel when it was completed (I stuck to my word and used my talent; I felt good about myself).  Then I broke the task into chunks on paper and just did it.  When it was all said and done, I rewarded myself with doing something fun that I had wanted to do for a while.
