Ron Aaron, Co-host of the HealthyPlace.com Radio Show

Ron Aaron is a talk show host and media consultant specializing in crisis communications and media relations. Before opening his own firm, Ron was executive director of Jewish Family and Children's Service of San Antonio, Texas. Prior to that, he was executive director of The Rape Crisis Center from 1995 to 1998.

Ron is executive producer of five award-winning films, "Teens Talk To Teens About Rape," "Whack: The Confusion of Violence" on teen dating violence; "Reflections of Emptiness: Straight Talk on Eating Disorders," "Open Wide: Straight Talk on Eating Disorders for Dental Professionals," and "Tradition of Caring, Legacy of Hope." His latest film, "Tina's Story" was released in July 2001. It tells the story of a young woman who was repeatedly molested by her father and his friends until she died at age 15. Ron is also a consultant to several corporate and non-profit agencies on media, communications, government relations and public affairs.

Prior to entering the non-profit world, Ron was a popular radio talk show host on San Antonio's KTSA, WOAI and KTKR, from 1991 to 1995. He was also a top-rated talk show host in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1981-1987.

Immediately prior to his move to San Antonio, he was senior vice president and director of public affairs for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (1987-1989) and senior vice president for The Jefferson Group, a government and public affairs consulting firm headquartered in the District of Columbia (1989-1991).

Ron served as press secretary and administrative assistant to the late Senator Robert Taft, Jr. (1966-1971), speechwriter and media consultant to former U.S. Commerce Department Secretary Peter G. Peterson (1971-1972), director of public affairs for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (1972-1975). He also was director of outreach for the White House Office of Telecommunications Policy (OTP) in the Ford and Carter Administrations prior to entering the private sector, where he spearheaded a move to encourage TV networks to embrace closed captioning to help America’s hearing impaired.

Ron earned his B.A. degree from Western Reserve University (1964), a Master's Degree in Communications from The Ohio State University (1967) and a J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University National Law Center (1973). He was selected for membership in Order of the Coif, the national legal honorary society. He is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.

Ron writes a weekly opinion column for the Northside Recorder and The San Antonio Informer. He has also written for The Washington Post, The New York Times, USA Today, Philadelphia Magazine, The San Antonio Express-News, The Maui News and other publications.

Ron is a member of several Boards including: the Blessed Sacrament Academy’s Development Board, Wildlife Rescue Rehabilitation and the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio.

He and his wife, Dee Eisenberg, live in San Antonio with their three dogs and a cat.
