In addition to the screening test, there are symptoms that should never be ignored. Stress at home, work, entertainment, information media, and play is causing more reports of people "cracking," or mentally "breaking down," than ever before. The problem is leading to a staggering amount of murders, suicides, road rage, family abuse, drug abuse, unhappiness and much more. Combined with stress, many of the diagnoses discussed in "Biological Unhappiness" can cause even good people to lose control.

SIGNS:

    Writing death poems
    Obsessing about death and/or violence
Deliberately injuring or mutilating the body
    Pulling out hair
    Road rage
    "Freaking out" over minor stress
    Substance abuse
    Punching walls
    Hatred, particularly of groups
"Can't stand" to be around happy people
Believing that happy, loving people are "wrong" or "misguided"
    Deja vu
    Things seeming unreal
The sensation of "looking through someone else's eyes"

NEVER IGNORE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS:

    I'm ready to kill someone.
    I'm going to kill myself.
    I'm going to show everybody.
    I won't be a nobody any more.
    I'm looking forward to death.
    I don't want to live.
    Life has no purpose.
What's the point in even trying?
    I'm worthless.
Everybody seems to have it in for me.
Others would be better off if I was dead.
The world is so bad I don't want my children to live in it.
