QUESTION:
Dr. Heller,
My wife recently started taking Paxil and it has helped her a lot. Her moods are much better since she has been on the medication. However the drug seems to have affected our sex life in a big way. She claims to have a severe lack of hormones as well as the inability to have an orgasm. What can be done about this? Any advice would be helpful.
DR. HELLER'S ANSWER:
She doesn't have a lack of hormones from the Paxil. Lack of orgasms can be a huge problem. The most effective treatments are ginkgo biloba 120-240mg daily and/or the addition of Wellbutrin to the regimen.
