QUESTION:

First, thank you for reading my inquiry. I am a 19 year old male who is extremely shy. I can't be in any social situation without the fear of embarrassment or failure. I can't even strike up a conversation with a man let alone a women. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DR. HELLER'S ANSWER:

You need to get all your medical diagnoses made and treated.

Prozac and Paxil can help for social phobia.

You also need to do specific things to build your self-esteem and self-confidence. In the strongest terms possible I recommend you get Zig Ziglar's tapes and listen, listen, listen. The number is listed at the top of this section.
