Depression and Possibly BPD?

QUESTION:

I have been treated for depression for more than 10 years and now realize that it is possible that I do not only suffer from depression, but possibly BPD. I have seen several therapists over the years and none has ever mentioned borderline personality disorder. Could you please provide me with the names of professionals in South Africa specializing in the treatment of BPD? After a 10 month period on a special diet, special supplements and body alignment treatment, to get rid of the Prozac poison in my system, I feel worse than I have ever felt in my life before. I would appreciate the help.

DR. HELLER'S ANSWER:

I don't know anyone in South Africa I can recommend. There is a considerable amount of information on this website that could help your physician however. The article I wrote for Primary Care Physicians in 1991 is still true today and could help you enormously.

Prozac is one of the key medications in treating the BPD. It's not poison. Look again at your next to last sentence with some words removed: "After a 10 month period ... to get rid of Prozac...in my system, I feel worse than I have ever felt in my life."
