Can a Marriage Succeed When One Has the BPD?
QUESTION:
I would like to know if a husband and wife can remain married and live happily when one of them has a borderline personality disorder--as long as they are on medication?
DR. HELLER'S ANSWER:
Absolutely. As long as both are committed to making the marriage better and are willing to read and improve themselves. Also the BPD partner needs to continue with medication, particularly the as needed medications.
