Parenting a Child with Autism, Video
Autism is a spectrum disorder, and although it is defined by a certain set of behaviors, children and adults with autism can exhibit any combination of these behaviors in any degree of severity. There is no cure for autism at present. Therapies, or interventions, are designed to remedy specific symptoms in each individual. The best-studied therapies include educational/behavioral and medical interventions. Although these interventions do not cure autism, they often bring about substantial improvement.
On the HealthyPlace Mental Health TV Show, we spoke with Ginger Taylor about her experience on parenting her autistic son.
