What's wrong with my child? Sometimes, parents intuitively know that their child has a real problem, even when no one else seems to think so. Being with a child day in and day out gives parents a perspective that no one else can share. If you think something is wrong, what's next?

Who is this woman and why is she giving parents advice? About the author

Adopted or foster child with problems?
I strongly recommend the book, When a Stranger Calls You Mom by Katharine Leslie,Ph.D. Read this book if you live or work with abused and neglected children, foster and/or adopted children. Find out why traumatized children think, feel, and act the way they do. Dr. Leslie has personal experience in this area with five children, 4 adopted and 1 foster child. The book is available here.

Highly Recommended Book:
Transforming the Difficult Child: The Nurtured Heart Approach by H. Glasser and J. Easley. "Shifting the intense child to new patterns of success and strengthening all children on the inside." This book gives parents and teachers an absolutely clear understanding of how a challenging child really responds to normal ways of parenting and why traditional methods actually make the situation worse.
