Evan Dando: "I'm Bipolar"

LEMONHEADS frontman Evan Dando has confessed he has been struggling with bipolar disease for years. The Mrs. Robinson singer was 'outed' by longtime pal Julianna Hatfield and her comments prompted Dando to reveal his depression issues. Hatfield told the magazine, "He's chemically imbalanced. Seriously... He does things to excess sometimes. He's self-medicating. "It hasn't been just one thing he's struggled with; he's struggling against his nature." Dando, who has reformed the Lemonheads for a new album and tour nine years after disbanding the group, admits to the magazine, "Sure, sure, I've been whatever it is, bipolar. At least that's what my shrink says."

Bleedingheart:

"About 6 months ago I met a guy, he is really nice and caring, he makes me laugh. I told him I didn't think we could have a relationship because of all the stuff that's happened in my life and he said it was ok; we could just be friends. So we chatted quite often, he came to see me a few times, he never did anything I didn't want. He is always kind and caring.

Recently I started thinking that for the first time in my life I just might be able to learn to trust a man. I told him things I never told anyone. I started to let myself like him. I was ready to tell him maybe we could try something more if we took it slow (he already told me he wanted me to be his girlfriend).

Last week his wife phoned me.

Something to think about...

"A person who is use to having frustrations due to failure doesn't mean there is no hope for them. As long as you're alive and breathing, there are so many chances --- and opportunities will come. Just think: there are more people out there who have bigger problems than you do. Just be courageous enough to face the test of life."
- Jacqueline Vitalich
