Severe OCD Puts Wrench in Father-Son Relationship

Many children — young and old — long to remember those men in their lives with Norman Rockwell textures: Tying a fishing lure; broaching the birds-and-the-bees talk; floating a loan — in quarters or thousands of dollars. Yahoo Closes Sex Chatrooms - Lure for Young Kids

Parents should be really concerned about their child's use of chatrooms on the internet.  For instance, many on Yahoo were being set up by predators to promote sex with minors.  Last week, Yahoo shut down all user-created chatrooms. How long the chat rooms that allegedly promoted sex with minors have operated is unclear.  As with most internet chat sites, Yahoo does not monitor the content in the chat rooms.

The History and Mentality of Self-Mutilation
An estimated 2 million Americans practice some form of self-injury, and there is a common misperception that -- like anorexia -- the problem afflicts mostly young women. But self-mutilation isn't exclusively a modern adolescent issue. The disorder is an ancient one, and it is best understood as an attempt to relieve rather than inflict pain. Tatiana28:

"I’m posting here anonymously because I am too embarrassed to be honest with anyone about how I am feeling. My depression would be neither popular nor accepted by anyone who knows me. Even though I’ve moved to a better working environment, I’ve experienced issues with job burnout, which eventually evolved into depression. I find myself locked into a depression that I just can’t get out of. Right now I don’t feel like I can make it through the rest of the night, let alone through tomorrow or next week."

Can you help Tatiana28? Respond here.

Something to think about...

"So often folks have wondered why God has placed on earth the storms, the tears, the raging seas - destroyers of all worth. But if it weren't for angry skies, the torrents and dismay, how could we realize the worth of a sunny, cloudless day?"
