The Pain of Living with Chronic Pain

ksskidude:

I am writing because I feel as though my life is slowly slipping away from me. This is not a suicide letter either. I am simply saying I am sick and tired of hurting everyday. The quick version of my life story; I broke my neck and suffered a spinal cord injury. After it was all said and done, my, arms, hands, fingers, shoulders, chest muscles, delts, back delts, forearms are all partially paralyzed. Not completely paralyzed, but partially. My legs are weakened, but work very well. Can you imagine the picture of what I look like? Many people who suffer SCI's lose feeling, nope not me. My nerves that feel, unfortunately work just fine.

I can actually play sports, golf, snow ski, racketball, all with partially paralyzed arms. But I now have every "itis' you can think of in my arms and hands and shoulders.

It's a living hell, the pain I deal with. Just typing this causes my fingers pain. Shooting pains.

I have been so depressed for a long time because I am always having to defend what I go through. Because it's not visible, and I am athletic.
