Re: self harm

hi Moi,
i usually don't regret si right after, only when someone in my family notices it do i regret it. i do it compulsively as well. when i do it and i cause my skin to bleed a lot, it makes me feel strong. also after i do it it gives me a mental boost, and makes me feel a lot better. maybe do some research on self injury on this site, it has a lot of information and alternatives.

Re: self harm

The way to learn to stop? Therapy therapy therapy!

Get into therapy and learn the reasons behind the SI and then the therapist will find ways to help you stop.
You definitely are going to need help though!

Hang in there,

Re: self harm

I am also a self injurer. I have been " clean" so to speak for about a year and a half but the urge is still there. You should know that you are not alone and this is something i consider an addiction. Like any other addiction, there is hope but it can be hard. It helps to have some one you can reach out to when you get in those moods where it feels like you have to have a release. I'm not "cured" by any means but I can be here to support you if you would like. Let me know and I will send you my email address.
