You know how the Animaniac cartoon
characters sometimes bounce around all crazy saying "Boing-y, boing-y,
boing-y?" That's how I feel today. Kind of coiled up inside and ready to
jump at any provocation.
Had a nice weekend. Saturday, we
went to Disney despite the drizzle to take photos of part of the half-marathon
course. That's the blue line going around there. The red line is the full
marathon. We still have until next month to make up our minds about what event
we will be doing. But when I went this weekend, I concentrated on getting the
first half of pictures. If we end up signing up for full, then I'll take the
rest. The half marathon stats at Epcot and finishes at Magic Kindom. So we
parked the car at Magic, took the monorail back to Epcot, and just started
walking around looking for where the mile markers might be and snapping photos
to send to Adrith later this week.

Sunday, we slept in as usual and
then we waited for the never ending rain to let up enough to zip to the grocery
for produce. When we came back I took another nap because I had a headache, and
then we spent the night cleaning the house.
Registered for the Disney 10K
after talking to someone at the events center about the time requirement. On
the website the only thing they say is "All runners must maintain a 15
min. mile pace. If you are not able to maintain that pace you will be escorted
to the finish line." Nothing about walkers or a race time limit. When I
called them up, they told me that the time for the whole thing is 2 hrs. and
walkers are most welcome. Which breaks down to an absolute minium pace of 19
min. 21 seconds. All this worry for nothing then! So Saturday, I have my BBQ,
and Sunday, the 8th, I have my race, and then the 10th I see Karen. Woowoo!
My only problem now is making sure
Paul gets UP that early! We have to be there to pick up our bibs and chips and
I want time, pre-race, to just drink water and try to calm down. The last thing
I need is to be rushing in traffic to get there.
I'm starting to get that jittery
feeling though. I'm excited, but scared. Looking forward to it and dreading it.
Boing-y, boing-y, boing-y!
