It was a good day for mail yesterday and
today. I got the new issue of Real Simple and I had put it up for tonight's
bedtime reading. I also got a subscription offer to
Bitch. I'm thinking
about it but where's my issue of Bust?! and why is everything I like in San Francisco?!
Courtney mailed me a Guilt Free
Musical Snack -- this mixed tape she made me with a cover that made me
laugh of this big strawberry shortcake. The first two songs also cracked me up
when I read them off the play list one after the other:
- Barbie Girl -- Aqua
- There's More to Life Than This --
Bjork
What do you think Courtney's
trying to say with that? *snicker* She also sent me a Power Puff Girls notebook
and a good letter I have to get to answering later today.
New cyberbuddy Kathy also sent me
a mixed tape after we arranged a tape trade via e-mail and she also include a
copy of her newest book,
How Come? Planet Earth. It's sort of like trivia questions
about all kinds of things. I know an author! How neat! I haven't gotten a
chance to read it much yet because as soon as Paul saw it on the table he made
of with it for himself. He loves stuff like that.
After Wednesday being so evil, and
Thursday being the way it was, I think I needed the mail break and the easy day
today. How tense have I been? I was still so tense on Thursday from Wednesday's
long day that I gave myself a cramp!
When Paul came home Thursday night
it was all thunder and lightening and he told me not to try going to gym. So he
sat at the dining room table working over his model tank and I sacked out on
the futon waiting for it to blow over. He said I kept waking up every 5 minutes
all startled and asking what time it was. I don't remember that. What do I
remember?
I was having some really funky
dreams -- about websites, my cousins, and this pig trying to sniff my crotch
the way overly-friendly dogs do. Disturbing. Then I woke up screaming and
scared Paul to death.
me:(screaming)
Aaaaaaaaaaah!
him: (dropping X-acto knife and
rushing over to the futon) What's wrong? Honey, wake up! What's wrong!?
me: My leg! Aaaaahhhhhh! Help me,
help me! Paul! Paul! (still screaming)
him:( now screaming back): What's
the matter with your leg! Stop waving it around! Wake UP! Wake UP!
me: I have a cramp! Paul! Paul!
Get it out! Get it out! Aaaaaaaah! (still waving my leg around
aimlessly)
him: (grabbing my leg and pulling
it out) Hold STILL then!
me: (me blinking more awake seeing
him holding my leg) Paul!? Why are you hurting me!?
him: I am not hurting you. Wake
UP! What's the MATTER with you?!
Apparently the funky dreaming got
me even more tense than I had been to start with. I had been clenching my toes
so hard in my sleep that it shot off a pain through my left calf. My jaw was
also tight and I'd smashed my tongue hard into the back of my teeth and it
hurt. I couldn't walk very well and I had to take an Advil for the pain.
Ugh. Rotten day Wednesday, leaking
into my Thursday!
Definite improvements today
though. Much more relaxed, mellow kind of mood. Anti-cooking girl struck so we
had frozen pizzas for dinner. On my way to gym I stopped by Holly's flat but
she was on her way to a bar with some other friends and after I hung with them
for a few minutes chatting, I went on my merry way to the gym.
They had invited me to come along,
but I had a training session to do. I went into the grocery store afterwards to
grab the pizzas, and bumped into one of them who was leaving (the bar, gym, and
grocery were all in the same plaza) and he said I ought to pop in now that I
was done and say "hi" to the girls because they were still in there.
I laughed and waved but then got in my car and just went home.
Friday night is a good gym night.
It's practically deserted! However, Friday night is not a good bar
night. That's where all the missing gym people are. Ugh, crowds.
