My utilities bill came in for
$200. The bulk of it was power, water was about the same. It's too damn hot,
and now I have to survive the summer with using up less AC. I told Paul we need
to plant more trees in front of the house to help keep it cooler. I bought
popsicle molds at Target and filled them up with a cranberry juice-applesauce
blend. I don't know whether to eat one or rub it all over my body!
It's 9:30 at night and it's 88 deg
outside despite the sun being long gone. No wonder I had a headache all day.
It's been the pits here.
I saw Karen (dietitian) today.
Got weighed, weighed more than
last time, but neither one of us really got excited about that because I'd just
eaten lunch and drunk a bunch of water. That's the problem
with lunch time appointments, but when else does anyone have time on a
weekday?! Besides I've seen my scale at home read lower, and she noted that
down.
This is what she said
overall:
- She said in general to keep going
in the same direction since everything is going smoothly and to pay attention
to my protein needs.
- She went over my training
schedule again, noting the switch coming up in August, and is pleased with it
because it provides rest, and tapers. I build up intensity over several weeks
and then back down again.
- She said to make sure I drink
every 15 min while working out, and if the work out is longer than 90 min take
in some Gatorade or something similar. I am to either dilute 1:1 or alternate
sips from a water bottle and a Gatorade bottle. (Ironically enough my new
hydropack for biking/walking came in today.)
- She was pleased I was cooking
more, and to keep trying to cook at least 4 entrees a week.
- We discussed cravings, and for
the most part, I'm not having problems getting into Paul's high calorie food
(he's seeing her for weight gain).
I feel tired. Sigh.
I did have great dreams though.
Today I dreamt Paul and I were making love, then it switched to me having a new
boyfriend, then it swtiched to me seeing old friends, then it switched to me
having children, then it switched to pretty gardens.
Paul wooed me with a card from
MicroSith. It featured the Linux
penguin wielding a light saber. Yay!
