My 95 box is up, so I guess
Dietwatch was reinstalled right before I had to get serious about converting to
use OnHealth for a journal. So here I go again... and as usual, way high
sodium. :P
Cleaning?
Went biking yesterday with Paul
and it was nice. He's feeling better after the teeth thing and he went to work
today which was good because I got the house to myself. I've already cleaned
the living room, bathroom. foyer and got laundry going. I have to deal with the
kitchen next -- dinner stuff.
We had a cold snap last night and
the temps are great, the skies were gorgeous so I opened all the windows all
day long to get some of that fresh air in here and take advantage of the wind
pushing it through the house.
Armed with the Peppermint Spray,
Bon Ami, a roll of paper towels, and lemon oil -- it felt sooo nice to clean
and plosih and not have fumey smells bugging me. Despite it being allergy
season I am breathing through BOTH, yes BOTH nostrils! It was so nice to air
out the whoel house!
I finally ran out of the refill
for the Seventh Generation dish detergent. That guy lasted almost a year! I'm
pleased with that.
The bedrooms need help, so I'll
deal with them tomorrow. I am just pooped. I paid all the bills and sent them
out and so we are all caught up.
So there. Balancing housewifery
with the rest of my life is still challenging, but I'm punching and kicking.
Haaaaaaiiiiiiii---YAH! (In a Miss Piggy voice).
Shopping?
Went out with Holly earlier this
week for shopping. I got shoes for work, and a dress.
This weekend I am moving my G3 to
the office so I can work from there. This thing with only one car is making
telecommuting a drag because even though I love to work from home, I can't jump
into the car and zoom wherever I am needed if I get a heads up at home to be
somewhere. I don't have my car to be able to do that!
I figured it would be better if we
BOTH had to go in to the office and then just deal with things from there.
Being in an office environment after so long not being in one.
Oy.
I was looking at my wardrobe --
and jeez, do I need to update!
Books?
New books? Went to Borders last
night with Paul. He got ghost stories and some music things (which is why he is
now in the music room kicking out melodies) and I got my own stash.
The Millennium Cookbook, a vegan gourmet cookbook. The recipes
look delicious, but they are more elaborate than I'd want for daily cookery. I
picked it up for $4 though off the clearance aisle so I am glad I held out. I'd
been wanting it for a while. I'm going to do one this weekend for fun.
Also got
Clean House, Clean Planet. I think recipe wise Better
Basics tops it, but this one includes further explanations of what is in
common household cleaners and what they can do to you. As if I needed further
convincing -- but it's nice to have.
I was also poking about for a
crockpot recipe book, but I was disappointed that they were all so meat
centric. While Paul eats meat, I don't want him eating that much meat. Where
are the vegetables?! I want to take advantage of having the crockpots but
finding recipes is something of a drag. :P
This reminds me, the Betty Crocker
Classic? I haven't peeked at hte new edition but the classic red checker binder
looking one? It was also in the clearance aisle and good grief -- it's been
through so many different printings and the design of the book is still the
same with the photos and the typography and the spot illsutrations.
Total crack up. I almost want to buy it just for nostalgia.
Fitness?
My ankle is off ice but still in a
brace thingie. My SIL also fell this week and her own ankle is up in ice packs.
We're a clod kind of family!
I may have found the bike thing to
be doing:
Nov 4 (Sat)
Tampa FL Diabetes Challenge
100 100k, 50k, 25 kilometers.
A repeat of last year's very
successful event. Like before, no pledges required (although donations
accepted). Rural North Tampa rides, fun for the entire family. T-shirts,
motorcycle escort, rest stops w/snacks and drinks, post-ride meal, mechanical
SAG, prizes, music, entertainment, massages, and more! Don't miss it!
Phone: (727) 855-8484.

I have to get more info but it
looks workable. We'd have to get smooth tires for our bieks though if its raod
stuff for the majority of it. I'm not ready to buy another bike -- one
specifically for road jsut yet.
I got Paul to swear we'd bike in
the arboretum sometimes this weekend though.
Muahaha! :)
