Much to do -- off for
groceries, then home to clean my stupid house. Tomorrow is try #3 at
DMV and then to file for homestead exemption. I love I pay less on
my mortgage than I ever did in rent. Hurray!
Sometime in the coming
weeks I have to try to go to City Hall to boo down a hearing that
might give this developer an exemption to build a recycling center
down the road from here.
It's a rough one for me
because I am all for recycling, but at the same time, why is he
picking that location for it? Not only does it bring down
property values, not only does he have to go through all this
hearing and junk to get an exemption for the zoning to build it
there, there's like oodles and oodles of space up further along the
road in the industrial park area where this sort of stuff is supposed
to go! That's why it's the industrial park! Hello?! What's he
thinking?! I bet anything it's cheaper for him to try to get the
exemption than to pay for property up in the industrial park.
It's always about money
isn't it?
Paul is sleepy and
achy, and it's his own fault. Jeez. If he is up to it I might take
him to the bike shop this afternoon and have our heads fitted with
helmets for early Valentine's Day presents and I'll just charge it.
He really freaked me out yesterday! Are they open on Sunday
afternoon? I have to check my business card. I might take my bike
down too because it is making a squeaky noise and I can't figure out
where it is coming from -- it's a little odd. If it doesn't happen
today, it will have to happen next Saturday before we bike again
because I'm not going to watch him do that again! Yow!
Yesterday was Chinese
New Year so we went to yamcha with Mom and Dad at Trey Yuen. It was
ok, although they both got all over me about my eating. No meat, no
dairy, no eggs, no cheese -- I think they are convinced that being
vegan is going to kill me sometimes. Maybe I ought to lend them my
copy of The Vegetarian Way so they'll feel better?
I can just imagine them
trying to feed any of my kids weirdness just because they won't
think my trying to raise them vegan is sane.
Add that one to the
MaybeBaby freakout -- relatives doing underhanded sneaky things
behind your back!
