i'm nineteen years old. last year my dad was sent to prison for 20 years for sexual abuse. i was abused sexually, mentally, and physically for 12 years. i couldn't tell him to stop of find the courage to tell anyone. until i moved in with my brother and saw that the world would be a better place without someone like him in it. for as long as i can remember i have wet the bed. i still do and i'm almost 20 years old. i also have trouble controlling my bladder when i laugh, cough or have sex. it's always been an embarrasing problem for me. i've gone to countless doctors and all of them say that there is nothing wrong with my bladder. i'm convinced that it all has something to do with the things that happened to me. just one of the many side affects that go along with having an abusive childhood. once i started to believe that it was connected to my dad and what he did to me, it started happening less and less. i probably wet the bed now once a month when before it was almost every night. i'm discovering that i have a lot more power than i think when it comes to overcoming that pain that all this caused. |
