Angela Ferraro
First, this man needs a round of applause for his participation. Put
your hands together now. When notified of his induction in the Hall of
Shame, did he complain? No, with good grace, he sent his picture. Or so
he said....hahahahahahaha, the joke is on me. Thank you to an alert Aussie
viewer who let me know that not only was the photo he sent NOT Dr. Ferraro,
but it was a major politician in AUSTRALIA!!! Jeff Kennett, described to
me as a Chuckles the Clown type of guy. Well, at least he didn't send me
a picture of Bill Clinton and try to pass himself off as our dear Bill.
Good one, Angie. I've put your real picture up now....no, don't worry,
I didn't put up the nude one that's floating around the XXX sites.
Now...onto the shame...
Mr. Ferraro apparently does not know how long to wait when reshocking
a patient. Unfortunately, this is indicative of ECT practitioners, who
often take a crash
course, then start shocking.
Here is his query to the shock doc list. Note the hateful .sig at the
end...is he comparing his patients to prostitutes having bad hair days?
Greetings, I have a query on the period of time that one should allow
between ECT administration during a session of titration. Should it be
15sec, 30, or more? Case in point: young fit male with florid mania, developing
toxicity to neuroleptics and other psychotropes, commenced ECT. As he was
ECT naive, begun with 20% on the Thymatron (I think that comes to around
100 mC) - only 15 second seizure, increased it to 40%, and given around
20 seconds later, an 18 second seizure. This was 5pm, given another 'dose'
the next morning, after a night where he did not sleep at all. Rather than
increasing the dosage again, I thought that the sleep deprivation would
have altered his threshold, gave him 40% again, and got a 52 second seizure.
Regards,
Angelo Ferraro
