Leeds Man Awarded Half A Million PoundsReported by ect anonymous After a 15 year legal battle, Richard Green of Leeds has been awarded half a million pounds in an out-of-court settlement by Leeds Eastern Health Authority. Mr. Green was undergoing ECT treatment at St James' Hospital, Leeds (widely known as Jimmy's ) when his airways became blocked. Despite over 40 'tipping trolleys' being in use in the hospital (designed to minimise such blockages) none were used in the ECT suite. The subsequent brain damage left him basically paralysed from the chest down, and with speech difficulties. During the 15-year legal battle Mr Green has been in a hospital ward. The settlement means that he can now move into specially prepared premises and employ a full-time carer. He is prepared to talk to journalists by prior arrangement through this office. Further details on request. You may get our answerphone on occasion. Please leave a message and we'll get back to you. Phone 01535 661493
