Tina- 24 years old

I'm bulimic. I binge. I purge. It was making my life a wreck. Everybody around me wanted to help. They knew something was wrong, but I couldn't turn to them. I couldn't let them in on my "little secret".

When I first came to the Concerned Counseling website, I found so much support in your chatrooms. Then one night, when things were really bad, I asked to talk with your counselor online. Thank goodness you have this service.

Dr. Miller helped me understand my situation. And during followup appointments, she helped give me the courage to share my eating disorder with my family and provided me with the support and information I needed.

I'm on the long road to recovery.

Depression!! I can tell you about depression. When I called the Concerned Counseling phone number, it was 2 in the morning. I wasn't going to kill myself, but I felt like it.

My marriage was over. I lost everything...my family, my savings, my self-esteem. On top of that, I have a history of depression. I've been taking Prozac for 4 years.

I don't know what I would have done if it weren't for Dr. Stone. We talked...well mostly I talked, he listened. But when he did talk, he was very reassuring. His words and advice were very comforting to me.

Over the course of the next two months, we had about 3 or 4 more sessions. He's been a big help to me. Thank you for being here.

"What's life got to offer when you're 76 years old, your friends are dieing around you and your body's breaking down. Sure my children call. But they live in another city and have lives of their own. I wish the good Lord would take me already."

"That's the way I used to feel. Oh sure, I still have days like that...but it's not every hour of every day. I realized I had to help myself. I read about Concerned Counseling in my "senior's" newspaper and decided to give them a call. I'm glad I did. It was easy, especially since I don't drive anymore. It's hard to see anyone."

"It's taken a number of counseling sessions to get out of the slump I was in. My counselor, Mark, listened to what I had to say and honestly, I'm out and around doing a few things everyday and I'm feeling a lot better."

"The hardest thing was acknowledging I needed outside help and hoping it would work."
