The Great Deceiver

March 20, 2012 Dan Hoeweler

I wrote the poem “The Great Deceiver” yesterday in honor of my fifth year of good mental health. It is about the false world that I had lived in as a result of my Schizoaffective disorder. I am writing it in response to all the lies it told me over the years.

The Great Deceiver

Lies Lies
Terrible Lies
Don’t you think
I know better
You tell me this
You tell me that
I listen not
I don’t believe you at all
You are full of
Bull-Donkey
You silly thing
And I know that
Better than you
So don’t try to convince me
No Sir
I don’t think so
You said that before
Don’t say that again
Your wasting your time
With silly games
You think you can hurt me
But think again
What’s that you are saying?
Tell me sir
Ha
Ha
Are you serious?
Am I supposed to believe that?
I will tell you I don’t
Because there is one thing
I know
Which is that
You sir
Mr Schizophrenia
Are the greatest
Deceiver
Of
Them
All

Ya know, I stumbled upon this site while searching for more info on topiramate, it was prescribed due to the fact that dilantin no longer controls the seizures. I'm a survivor of encephalitis & these sorts of comments from the "professionaals who are supposed to help", are scary to me. Anyway, that's neither here, nor there. Oh contrare, Mr.Dr Musli Ferati. It is precisely people like you who drive people crazy. Oh snap, that's right..., you wouldn't have a job otherwise; eh? You'd better hope and pray that the schizo shoe doesn't end up..., on the "other" foot. S7 Blasting off. Peace

Foolishly, the imposture approach in psychiatric working out is frequent and common practice. With this inappropriate interpersonal relation are going to serve both professional psychiatric staff and close relative of respective patient with mental illness. The reasons are due to numerous perspectives: psycho-social, socio-cultural, socioeconomic, anthropological and so on. These specific and characteristic individual and collective features consist an inextricable issue, that impact deeply the process of treatment and recovery of any psychiatric disorder. However, it is preferable to avoid the misconception of lying the patient on its mental disorder, as the sign of compassionate and the gesture of good will. I think that this kind of support would hurt more the sense of self-confidence, of any psychiatric patient as primary factor in withstanding with its disease. Therefore, it ought to explain in reliable and comprehensive manner the real nature of pertain mental disorder in order to face as better as to overcome the same health and life difficulty.
