SAFETY TIPS FOR
CHILDREN
My 10 Rules for Safety
-
I will learn my address, phone number, and the name of my mon, dad, or guardian. I know how to dial 911.
-
I will always stay close to my parents or guardians, they are my trusted adults. If I want to go somewhere, I will ask first, tell them where I am going and when I will be back.
-
If I go anywhere, it is always better to go with a friend. My friend and I can help each other stay safe.
-
I will not talk to strangers even if I'm with a friend. Adults should ask other adults to help them.
-
If someone tries to touch me in ways that make me feel ucomfortable, I will tell them "no" or "stop, I don't like that." Yell-Run-Tell.
-
I know it is never my fault if that happens. Run-Tell
-
I will then go tell a trusted adult what happened. Even if they say to keep it a secret, I will tell and keep telling until someone helps me.
-
If is never good for me to keep secrets from my 'trusted adults.' I will talk to them about my problems. It makes me feel bad to keep those secrets.
-
My trusted adults can be my parents, guardian, or even someone else! They are the people in my life that care about me and want me to be safe.
-
I deserve to be safe and happy because I am a very special person. I will practice these ten steps:
A Summary of Things You Can Do To Stay Safe
- Learn my address and phone number
- Check first with your parents before going anywhere
- Never go anywhere by myself
- Yell, Run, & Tell when someone frightens me
- Never keep bad feelings a secret
