Scene III: Classroom - Classroom Critters are all together.

Fish: The child told Mommy what happened. The child was very brave. Mommy made sure the child was safe and that the police checked on the stranger to see if he was trying to trick children and take them away. The child's trusted adults were proud the child thought to Yell, Run, and Tell.

Turtle: I am glad The Child Who Loves Toys was safe. I'm sure that child will always stay close to trusted adults when they go anywhere from now on. Critters all nod.

Hamster: That reminds of the time, I went home with The Child Who Loves Animals. (To audience) You all know that child. We went to the park with the babysitter. The babysitter was talking to her friend. She forgot to watch us. I know the trusted adult should always watch the child when they go out. I knew we were in for trouble.

Scene IV: Park The Child Who Loves Animals is playing with Hamster and Stranger approaches.

Stranger: Hi! I lost my puppy. Will you help me find it?

Child Who Loves Animals: I love animals. I want to help the puppy-but this is a stranger. What should I do?

Hamster: Uh Oh! Danger! Yell, "Back Off Stranger!" Run away quick. Don't you fall for a stranger's trick. Tell your mom, Tell your dad. Tell a trusted adult when you're scared or sad.

Scene V: Classroom - Critters are together Hamster:

The child told the babysitter what happened. The child was very brave. The babysitter made sure the child was safe and the police checked on the stranger to make sure he wasn't trying to trick children and take them away. The trusted adults were very proud of the child who remembered to Yell, Run, and Tell.

Fish: I am glad The Child Who Loves Animals was safe. I bet next time that child goes out, The Child Who Loves Animals will remind the Trusted Adults to keep watching even if they are talking to another adult.

Turtle: I remember the time I went home with The Child Who Loves Ice Cream.

(To audience) You all know that child. The child's Daddy was working in the front yard and the phone rang. He ran inside to get it. I know he is supposed to watch the child when the child is in the front yard. I knew we were in for trouble.

Hamster: What happened?

Turtle: Well, the ice cream truck came and stopped across the street. The Child Who Loves Ice Cream had no money.

Scene VI: Outside (use Park) with Stranger in car Stranger: Here's some money. You can buy an ice cream.

Child: I really want an ice cream. The truck will leave before Daddy gets off the phone and comes out, but this is a stranger. What should I do?

Turtle: (To audience) Let's sing the "Smart about Strangers" song to help this child. (Children join in)

Uh Oh Danger! Yell, "BACK OFF STRANGER!" Run away quick! Don't you fall for a stranger's trick. Tell your mom. Tell your dad. Tell a trusted adult when you are scared or sad.

Child: BACK OFF STRANGER!

The child runs into house.

Scene VII: Classroom with Critters

Turtle: The Child Who Loves Ice Cream told Daddy what happened. The Child was very brave. Daddy helped the child feel safe and the police went to check on the stranger to see if she was trying to trick children and take them away. The child's trusted adults were proud of the child who remembered to Yell, Run, and Tell.

Fish: I am glad The Child Who Loves Ice Cream was safe.

Hamster: I bet next time that child is in the front yard and a trusted adult wants to go inside the child will ask the adult to stay outside longer.

Turtle: Or the child can go inside with the trusted adult.

Fish: The child would also be safer in the back yard if they have a fence. Maybe the trusted adult could watch out the window.

Hamster and Turtle: Yeah! (nod heads in agreement)

Fish: If a stranger ever calls you to come close to them or their car, never go. Never talk to strangers even if they want to give you a present or ask you for help.

Hamster: If a stranger comes, Yell, Run, and Tell!

Turtle: Let's sing the "Smart About Strangers" song.

Whole cast except Strangers:

Uh Oh! Danger Yell, "BACK OFF STRANGER!" Run away quick. Don't you fall for a stranger's trick. Tell your mom. Tell your dad. Tell your trusted adult when you're scared or sad.

Classroom Critters: We're the classroom critters. We love you. So there's one thing you gotta do. Remember even when we are apart Be safe, Be strong, Be stranger smart!
