Celebrate Safety has turned the difficult and sometimes scary subject of child abuse for younger children into stories which are both encouraging and empowering.
Message from the Founder:
As with our other child abuse prevention programs, Celebrate Safety has been developed to educate our youngest children on abuse. SOC-UM believes it is the responsibility of communities to provide pre-school, kindergarten, and first grade children a wellness program that lays the foundation for our Break the Silence - Yell and Tell elementary program -- to tell and keep telling until a trusted adult listens. Celebrate Safety has turned a difficult and sometimes scary subject for younger children into stories which are both encouraging and empowering.
Celebrate Safety is a creation by Janiece Hopper. Ms. Hopper, an elementary grade teacher, language development specialist, and SOC-UM's Director of Education, created the puppet program using her experience with primary grade children. Ms. Hopper currently lives in Snohomish, Washington with her husband and son.
