I Declare Myself Free

Free to be me.

Free to be responsible to myself.

Free to enjoy life.

Free from guilt.

Free to feel good about me.

I don't have to please people to feel good.

I no longer have to eat, sleep, buy things, or use people or things as a means of escape from myself or the difficulties of life.

I no longer have to live by the values of others.

I no longer have to react to, or accept others judgments of myself. I am free to love according to the values I have found in my acceptance of, and relationship with God, as I understand him.

I am free to be human; to make mistakes, to have shortcomings, to not be perfect, and still be 'ok'.

I am free to have limits and boundaries of my own and to feel good about staying within them.

I no longer need to feel guilty or responsible in any way for where others are at. I did not make anyone sick and I will not be responsible for making them better.

I am free to take care of me, and if that means letting go, backing off, or getting out, then I no longer will abuse myself or others by staying in unhealthy relationships.

I am free to let others know exactly how I feel about them. And I am free from expecting, or trying to control what the outcome of that expression might be.

I am free because I believe God created me to be free.

Free to love and to be loved simply because 'I am'.

I am a valuable, worthwhile, acceptable, capable, loveable person, and I am free!
