Got really busy in the last few
days, then when the weekend came all I wanted was to rest. I had this horrid
bout of insomnia as well, so I was pretty moody until I could get some sleep.
It was horrible. For several days running, I just COULD NOT settle down to
sleep! Every little thing would bug me, and my mind was chugging away a zillion
miles a minute.
I finally got some decent sleep
Saturday most of the day and then we cleaned up the house and Paul made me
watch Spinal Tap. I don't know... it certainly isn't on my list of
repeats! I know it's a spoof on rock band documentaries, but all I could think
was "Look, that's Lenny from Laverne and Shirley playing the leader
of the band."
My new sports watch shipped today,
so I should have it soon. Yay. Because I am going to need it if I plan to be
jogging around here twice a week. It's got beeps for intervals so then I can
alternate walking and jogging and not pay attention to anything past that.
Today at the gym was good -- and I'm getting excited about my 10K coming up.
Paul's not doing much for it, so I hope he will make it ok. He needs to start
doing something more regular in that vein of thought.
Tonight, we had to shoot Janis,
our iguana, (antibiotic) and then remove the tail bandage. Well, he didn't care
for being woken up and swaddled in towels and taken to the bathroom, he didn't
care for his shot, and he definitely did not care to have his tail messed with,
even if it was to remove his bandages. He took it as long as he could but then
even Janis' near saintly patience hit the limit.
He scratched me while trying to
run away and then he chomped on Paul's finger when caught. While Paul bled all
over his denim shorts and howled, Janis opened his mouth and hissed daring
either one of us to come near him. We nabbed him and wrapped him back up in
towels so he couldn't flap around and he closed his eyes and tried to pretend
he wasn't there. You could tell he was aggravated though because I could feel
him breathing all huffy inside the towel. We got him settled down enough to
finally get the bandage off and soaked his tail in Nolvosan. Then we put him
away into his cage and then soaked Paul's finger in more Nolvosan solution and
bandaged him up.
Way too much drama for the end of
the day. Basically, now I am
just tired and worn out.
