Yes, yet another PPG entry!

Paul got it for me in July, but I hadn't had the chance to dub it over to tape until last night so I can take it to gym: Heroes & Villains.

I think it's cute, and it's just well put together. The songs are interspersed with little bits of narratives and tell a story about Mojo Jojo trying to take over Townsville. The Mayor calls the girls and then each girl gets a song to go after the monkey. There's a few worried songs where nobody knows if the girls are ok after Mojo Jojo blasts them, but they rise from the rubble and get him back and win. (That's the only track I'm not wild about -- "The Fight." It's a collage of sounds, and it works for a "fight" but I never have liked collages like that. Thankfully, it's short.) A little while after the end theme is the bonus track. It's that "Love Makes the World Go Round" song that they sing in a round near the clown episode redone like the Mayor has gone home after the adventure and he's relaxing to the radio.

Yes, some of the songs are a little hokey, and yes, Blossom's songs bothers me a little bit because of the intense, chanting pace and the bulimic sounding chorus lyrics. Overall though, it's got a great beat and it amuses me so it's going to be entertaining at gym. It's not quite 45 minutes so I repeated two of my favs to stretch it out to fill one side of a tape. The problem is what do I put on the other side that will match PPG stuff? Animaniacs? The NIghtmare Before Christmas? Joe Cool's Blues?

The iffy Blossom lyrics?

I've got an urge, I've got to purge
I've got to get it out, I want to make a better day
I want to hear you say -- I want to make a better day
I want to hear you say -- I want to make a better day

I'm probably being hypersensitive thinking that it's bulimic sounding. Really little girls won't notice, older girls and women will know better. I wonder about the ones in the middle though. The rest of the lyrics chant incessantly "do the right thing, do the right thing, go beserk, let it work, do the right thing." I guess because Blossom is the leader who's always trying to be the one for justice they gave her the "do the right thing" song. But I'm a little disappointed. They could have made her song better than that!

I took a nap last evening because it was hella hot -- 94 deg in the SHADE! -- and I had a heat headache. I woke up to Paul sitting on the edge of the bed putting a box on my chest which turned out to be a Bubbles playset. I immediately thought of Adrith, who likes Bubbles best, and I asked Paul if they'd run out of Buttercups and he said no.

"I had Buttercup in my hand but then I out her down for a second to look at a different thing and when I picked her back up again it turned out that I didn't pick her up, I picked up a Bubbles by mistake. I didn't notice until I got to the car and I was too lazt to switch them. I'll get you Buttercup next and then Blossom so you have all three. Happy Anniversary. *smooch*"

I like the action figure type sets but since I don't play dolls anymore they'll ony sit around. What I really like is the magnet story set so I can put it all on the refrigerator.

I like the idea of the Power Puff Girls beating up all my bills!
