Had my teeth cleaned yesterday. I
am semi disgruntled because while the dentist did a fine job scraping and
cleaning, he had to go work on an emergency patient who rushed in and I was
taken over by one of the dental assistants who didn't do a good job on the
polish nor the floss. Ungh. Bright side -- teeth are healthy and in great
shape. Yay!
I went to my other gym since I was
on that side of town and did weights for real. It was a good workout -- and
there were no complaints out of the elbow. (I did the upper body stuff a little
lighter than I used to.) A lot of aches this morning though so I can tell it's
been a while.
The weekend was good after all. I
thought it was going to stink because I was trapped indoors from all the rain
and I was missing a long session I'll only have to repeat this weekend. Paul
cleaned the iguana cage on the patio and changed all the turtle water while I
cleaned up the kitchen and living room. Then we played Monopoly for a few
hours, listened to music, and chased each other around so it worked out fine.
Very relaxing and the chores aren't so evil this week now. When I woke up
Sunday morning from thunder and lightening, I snuggled back into the covers and
hid. It was fun.

When asked what his favorite sport
to watch was, Paul replies:
I don't
know...synchronized swimming. I think watching sports is almost as bad as
watching cooking shows, which is only one step closer to talk shows with
maladjusted people.
That struck me as funny.

My parents came over yesterday to
bring us an anniversary present. I can never remember if it's the 7th or the
8th for that one because it's not the wedding I count, just the confirmation I
guess. Anyway, that's the one my folks count because they don't know about the
other, and it has now been 2 years. Mom told me SHE was not responsible for the
drawings all over the gift bag of little red hearts and arrows and that my DAD
was responsible. There were a lot of hearts drawn on there and a large roman
numeral "II" that had been polka-dotted to death. Meanwhile Dad was
all hyper for us to open the gifts.
It turned out to be a very nice
card with cash, and two wooden puzzle things that Paul and I are addicted to.
His consists of a box with some wooden dowels of assorted sizes that came with
one other dowel stuck to the lid with tape. The puzzle is to get ALL the dowels
into the box. Mom was the one who eventually figured that one out. Mine was at
first a big wooden cube in a checkerboard pattern. It comes apart into various
shapes and the puzzles are to make these pieces fit together to make other
shapes like it shows on the instructions. I got two shapes done, Dad got one,
Paul got one and Mom never got to that one because she was still fussing with
the dowels. Dad had a ball though -- he likes to watch other people do puzzles
so he can tell them what to do!
We haven't decided what we will do
this weekend anniversary-wise.

We either got them all or they've
died of starvation. No crickets spotted today and I've only saw one on Sunday.
Yay!
