Help is on the way (II)

Sal will store an unknown number of complex stress cycles in his or her body until they are resolved. A complex stress cycle causes stress response buildup (several cycles of stress response). The complex stress cycle illustrated in figure 6. is relatively simple compared to complex stress cycles which have several other cycles combined (lots of old baggage). No matter how complex the cycles become, the skills for resolution are the same.

The complex cycles I wish to discuss are the those caused by emotional-stressors (choose to see emotional-stressors list).

There are several types of action that Sal may choose from in order to resolve complex stress cycles or single stress cycles. Each type has one thing in common:

Expulsion

Expulsion is how stress cycles are resolved. Below is a list of different types of expulsion.

  • Talking
  • Playing the piano
  • Drawing
  • Journaling
  • Exercising
  • Acting
  • Dancing
  • Writing
  • Painting
  • Sculpting
  • Laughing
  • Anger work

Which ever expulsion action is taken, the first consideration will be to reduce the possibility for the expulsion to be blocked by "expulsion inhibitors" or "double binds."

Note: Part of the expulsion process includes a re-examination of events and messages attached to the original formation of the complex cycle. Is it true, in Sal's present moment reality and past moments reality, that Sal needs to attach shame and terror to the event of sneezing in church in order to survive (survive as defined in the appendix)? And, it does not matter how anyone but Sal, remembers (has stored) an event and the meanings (baggage) associated with it.
