SAFELINE CAN HELP YOU TO FEEL SAFE

Safeline is a volunteer association based in the UK which has been established by women who were themselves sexually abused as children.

Did you know:

  • Childhood Sexual Abuse is not something new. It has gone on for generation-upon-generation and has been pushed "under the carpet" for years.
  • Many survivors have suffered since they were children, wondering who can they tell? and will they be believed?
  • You may have tried to tell people when you were younger and no one listened.
  • You may sometimes feel dirty and guilty and also want to harm yourself.
  • You can sometimes feel very small and that the world is a big hostile place with nowhere for you to be safe.
  • You may lack confidence and have low self-esteem.

If you have experienced any of these feelings and would like to talk to someone who won’t judge, but will listen and believe, then you can contact Safeline via email, letter, or by telephone in the UK:

SAFELINE Telephone in the UK: 01926 496911

We answer our phones on weekday mornings and on Monday and Thursday evenings between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Please ring the helpline to confirm times. A 24-hr. telephone message is available with up-to-date information.

or write us at:

SAFELINE can help you Survive Abuse, make new Friendships and Educate others.

EDUCATION

Members of SAFELINE can facilitate discussions on various topics e.g. understanding abuse, recognizing the effects of abuse, how to protect children, why children don’t tell?

If you belong to a group or organization, for example, pre-school associations, parents groups, women’s organizations or voluntary groups, we would like to help you understand more about abuse and survivor issues by facilitating group discussions and awareness training.

SAFELINE will also facilitate workshops for professionals i.e. Social Workers, Police, Child Protection Teams, Primary Health Care Teams etc.
