Comments - I am in deperate need of support from anyone with a child who suffers from schizophrenia or has knowledge in this area. My stepdaughter is 11 and her mother is schizophrenic. She has began to show signs. She has began to stare at you when you ask a question and be totally blank and not even be able to answer unless you repeat it several times, she mentions places we have been but have never been to, she has no friends and lies alot and seems to believe them, and the latest is an allegation of molestation by her uncle she claims happened when he lived with us 3 years ago, but he hasn't lived with us in 8 years, also the things she says have changed with every sentence from he did this or that to he did not do this or that, not mention when he was there, there were 3 other children sharing a room with her and someone was always sleeping beside her. She seems to be confusing fantasy with reality. If anyone can help please let me know. Comments - I am an organizer of safe sanctuary program for local church. We have a volunteer who is schizophernic and is currently hospitalized. She has never been violent to others but does hurt herself. Some in the congregation are having problems with the concept of her working with our church children. What can I say to them? What are the legal issues if we do not allow her to continue working with the children? What are the legal issues if we allow her to work with the children and they view an incident of some sort?

Comments - I am a sufferer of Bipolar Disorder. Right I started out being diagnosed with ADHD with Depression, then Bipolar after my first episode. Now quite possibly Schizoaffective Disorder. I am dealing with trying to maintain employment, which I have done for 2 years, but I have been on medication for about 2 1/2 years and have felt the struggle to hang onto my position. Dealing with the fact that I am staying with my brother, but wanting to be able to take find my own place and I miss my children so much. My Bipolar caused a divorce.

Comments - wife of a sufferer but he will not get any help and the days are going by and i feel helpless and left out of his world. i try to talk to him but he just tells me i dont understand. he thinks everyone is after him and he either gets really mad or starts to have an anxiety attack. he will not get on meds becasue he thinks doctors are out to get him also. this is so brand new to me that i dont know where to turn to get help for him or i. hoping this site will lead me to someone who can help me to help him get the help he needs. someone please help me becasue i am outstretching my hand and just asking for someone to take it and help. what do i do??? do i get him admitted to the hospital to get him evaled and if they release him before he is not treated i am afraid that he will be sooooo mad at me for betraying him. his family will not help becasue i have asked for thier help and they are not a family that does help. i am looking for someone who can tell me where to go for help to get started or long term. we have a daughter that is 4 and she doesnt need to hear his meltdown. at least if i knew he was getting help then i could face another day with him. he is starting to say he is going to start hurting people that are hurting him but he thinks everyone is hurting him. well here is my cry for help and if someone can then that would be great because i feel so alone in this battle. husband and i have been married for 17 years but i never saw this side of him til about 4-5 years ago. can this happen???? please email me i am desperate. thanks you, shirley

I have been watching over her for a week now and her symptoms seem to get worse and is able to come out of her delusional state. She is aware that she is ill, but she does not want to go into the hospital until after christmas. she is tearful, thinks people on tv are talking about her, unemotional. I personally want to admit her into the hospital but i dont want her to lose her trust in me. she is my boyfriends sister, she was married 5 years ago but now is divorced, she has been hositalized 13 times in the past, she has no job or insurance i am trying to help her get medicaide and foodstamps and SSI i hope this all works out for her.

Comments - i have paranoid schizophrenia.i live with my family.my dad is paranoid too, but not schizophrenic like me.my disease pretty much prevents me from living my life like a normal person.i've had it since i was 15,im now 30.I have problems with my family.i wish i could find a home somewhere away from people and away from anything that i could live and be somewhat at peace.im not suicidal, but i have problems with my neighbors, my overall health-i have diabetes and i think sleep apnea so i don't sleep well if at all.Drugs don't do anything for me-i think geodon gave me the diabetes i have-there's been studies done that prove this.if anybody has some suggestions for me or help id be glad to hear them.

Comments - My mom (age 61) was diagnosed about 20 years ago with the disease and unfortunately we (my brother and I) have gotten no real help. she constantly in and out of the hospital and she will not give any one power of attorney. We can not get any medical information on her from the docs because of invastion of privacy. therfore we really do not know what type of meds she is on or have been on. we do recognize when on works but even on her better days she refuses to give me the name of her meds. the one that helps is a montly injection. the problems is she will not let the doc perscribe that and he only gives her daily meds which she will not take and after a month needs to be rehospitalized. I do not know what to do anymore. My husband wants to move out of state, my little brother is out of state and my older brother feels as thought we can't do anything further he is aout to ward her to the state. My grandma is 82 and will not deal with her when she has eppesodes I am lost and scared to leave, but know it is the best thing for my kids. any suggestions?

Comments - I am a day health care provider. I have a patient who has schizophrenia. I am trying to understand her better to provide her with better care. She has a care taker whom takes care of her during the evenings. This same care taker took her off her meds when medicaid refused to pay for it anymore. Wihtin the last two months I have noticed drastic change in my patient. Her case is becoming more severe everyday. Frightening even at times. I would like to know what is the worst that could possibly happen when the drug she use to be on is completely out of her blood stream? She has never scared me before but now she is claiming voices are telling her to get rid of herself and others. I am frightened of what might happen if she is not put on a different medication. Please help.

Comments - Sufferer- im not admitting any flaw at this idea but my doctors have told me for years that i am schizophrenic but it isnt really true cause i dont feel crazy at all and they said that it was losing touch with reality but i look at it as i am reality so f**k off cause this is my domain anyway and if u dont like it ill shut down this whole sector and tap my pocket just to get rid of the road for two miniscule seconds and besides once God gives me star wars im gonna set it off and the world can once again be free yeah thats true and i want to talk to someone just a girl guys always wanna play sling block with there egos and try and correalate with master and of speaking the new commander so take it its yours... dogs killed the pope no fualt of mine...no sympathy for the devil... you gotta buy the ticket...take the ride.. casue your really one of gods own prototype... some kinda high powered mutant never even considered for mass-production... to wierd to live..yet to rare to die... so the road keeps it alive for you to pray on casue it knows the time is near.l.. later im ghost.. yeah thats true!

Comments - friend. I have been friends with a borderline paranoid man for 5 years. The last few months our friendship has deteriorated and is about over. Even though he has a girlfriend who also has severe depression problems, I sense a distinct change in him. He's very moody, easily gets angry (especially at me) does not seem to be enjoying life as he once did. Our friendship is about over but I am having trouble letting go. I sense that at times he still needs me and I don't know if I can be there for him anymore. It's like being on a roller coaster and things I shouldn't take personally, I do. I would love some advice. Am I doing the right thing by leaving him so to speak or should I hang in there and let him know it. Since our relationship has been over, my life is on a much more even keel and my stomach isn't in knots anymore.

Comments - My family and I have always known that there was something abnormal in my feelings and behavior. I am willing to bet anything that I have some type of schzo disorder based on my recent problems. I went to MHMR and in my initial screening the counsoler said bipolar but I know that's not what I have. What should I do? I have no money or insurance and really need help before it gets completely out of control. I have lost all my closest friends due to my rage and depression. I don't trust anyone!
