Caught on tape!

Dr. Charles Kellner, considered to be one of the leading ECT researchers, is caught on tape (talk show) lying repeatedly. This conduct earned him an award from the ECT Hall of Shame.

The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) widely uses an article about ECT. The article contains FALSE (documented) information, attributing a statistic to a credible source.

What's going on with the FDA?

Since the 1976 Medical Devices Act became law, a tug of war between the shock industry and shock survivors has raged on. ECT devices (the machines) have *never* undergone any testing for safety under the guidance of the FDA. The only testing is on YOU, the patient. Oooops. And the American Psychiatric Association is fighting hard to make sure it stays that way. Read letters from the top two shock doc/researchers in the country, sent to the FDA. These letters were obtained using the Freedom of Information Act.

Censorship at CMHS

The Center for Mental Health Studies report is out! (I was a member of the Task Force in Washington, D.C.) The bad news is that CMHS *did* censor the report, after hiring Linda Andre as a consultant. The worst crime in world history

Most people throughout the world know the horrors perpetrated against Jews and other ethnic "undesirables" by Adolf Hitler and his evil colleagues. But did you know that more than a quarter million persons with psychiatric conditions were also killed? In fact, these killings served as the model for "euthanizing" Jews, gypsies and the others later killed. Now the World Psychiatric Association has welcomed German psychiatry into its fold, ignoring the crimes of history. To pretend it never happened is to once again kill those victims of evil...to say their lives meant nothing. Chancellor Willy Brandt kneeled at the Getto Warsaw Rebellion Memorial to make a statement to the world that he acknowledged - and was sorry - that Jews and Gypsies were killed in the Holocaust. No one - politicians, psychiatrists, or anyone else other than survivors - has ever even acknowledged the 275,000 psychiatric victims. It is a slap in the face to all psychiatric consumers and survivors around the world to hold the World Psychiatric Association's 11th Congress in Germany without issuing any kind of statement regarding those people who were murdered because of psychiatric histories. A group of people have put together a heartbreaking tour of the facilities that were used to kill psychiatric patients in Germany from 1939 to 1947 (Yes, they continued after the war ended....forgotten once again by the world). They will be conducting tours in Germany during the WPA's convention....visit them and learn more about the ugliness of psychiatry in Germany.
