For example, 81 (or 15.6%) of participants have taken Valium. 10 of those people did not specify how long they had taken Valium. The average length of time that people had/are taking Valium is 59 months or approximately 5 years. 14 had/have taken Valium for >10 years etc. 45 participants are still taking Valium while 36 have ceased to take it.
Other Tranquillisers taken by Research participants were Buspar (mean 16 months), Librium (mean 160 months), Mogodon and Euhypnos (both a mean of 60 months) and Stemetil (mean of 8 months). Each of these had less than 4 participants that have/are taking them.
The Table Total Tranquilliser Taken shows a total number of 380 of the listed tranquillisers had been reported as being taken. There were multiple tranquillisers used by participants therefore the increased number to the 308 (or 59%) figure quoted previously. This Table gives an overview of the average time the Tranquillisers had been used by participants. Here the mean time for taking a Tranquilliser is 43 months (approximately 3.6 years). This is a very high figure.
