Green Cross Projects   Represents the humanitarian and service initiative of the Psychosocial Stress Research Program. The goal of this initiative is to provide immediate trauma intervention to all areas of our world when a crisis occurs. Traumatic-Stress   The Traumatology Forum has been in operation since March of 1994. The Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists (ATSS)   The only international organization offering three distinct certifications to individuals providing support, education, intervention and treatment in the field of traumatic stress. International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS)   Founded in 1985, ISTSS provides a forum for the sharing of research, clinical strategies, public policy concerns and theoretical formulations on trauma in the United States and around the world. Pendulum : Bipolar Disorder Resources   Since 1994, Pendulum has been the most comprehensive and supportive information source for bipolar disorders. The information at this web site is for consumers, family members and mental health workers to make informed decisions about the care and treatment of bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression. This site was off-line for quite some time due to heavy demand, but is back again in great force. Natural Hazards Center   A national and international clearinghouse for information on natural hazards and human adjustments to hazards and disasters. Located at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS )   A national non-profit organization made up of, and providing services to, all those who have lost a loved one on active duty with the Armed Forces. Offers free grief counseling referral, case worker assistance and crisis information. Center for Victims of Torture   A private, non-profit organization founded in 1985 to provide direct care and rehabilitation services to survivors of politically-motivated torture and to members of their families. The first organization of its kind in the United States, it has pioneered a comprehensive assessment and care program that is unique in this country. Reactive Attachment Disorder Links   This page contains links to web sites and pages having to do with Reactive Attachment Disorder. Part of the Attachment Disorder Support Group. the Anxiety Panic internet resource (tAPir)     A grass roots project involving thousands of people interested in anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, phobias, shyness, generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behavior and post traumatic stress, tAPir is a self-help network dedicated to the overcoming and cure of overwhelming anxiety. Panic Relief, Inc.     A four year old non-profit educational foundation serving people with anxiety and panic disorder. Workshops and support groups are currently are expanding throughout the U.S.A. Also offers telephone and internet consulting as well as "The Panic Relief News" newsletter. Anxiety Research Group   This site from the University of Arizona focuses on behavioral and neural underpinnings of anxiety disorders using data from a variety of species. In particular, they are using behavioral, endocrine, and fMRI studies to outline the characteristics and properties of human spatial cognition under normal and highly stressful conditions. Their focus has been on testing a model of specific phobia originally outlined by Jacobs and Nadel (1985) and expanded to include other anxiety disorders by Jacobs, Nadel, & Hayden (1992). They have recently made a number of exciting empirical discoveries through the use of a newly developed computer-based method of studying place learning and memory in humans.

Psych Central   Dr. John Grohol's Mental Health Page, a personalized one-stop index for psychology, support, and mental health issues, resources, and people on the Internet. Mental Health and Illness   Monthly columns on new developments and links to new articles on the Web and other resources. They also have extremely good overviews of Depression, OCD, Panic Disorder and Fear  .

Includes an online bookstore which caters to those who enjoy reading about epidemiology and microscopic life-forms of a contagious nature. Lists everything from PTSD to plague to Gulf War Syndrome to AIDS and more. Clinical Pharmacology Online   An extensive full monograph service on pharmaceuticals including investigational drugs. I give this site 5 stars for usefulness, layout and degree of information provided. Run by the University of Missouri - Columbia Health Sciences Center. Molecular formulas, monitoring protocols, costs of treatment, photographs of how medications are supplied, nutraceuticals and combination medications. Medications   Fairlite's web page regarding Medicines; one of the best sources I've found, though its list in not extensive - has molecular structural formulas. RxList   The Internet Drug Index Rx Qx   This is intended to be a psychopharmacology resource for the general public. The goal is to provide information about psychiatric medications and, to some extent, about psychiatric conditions. What is unique about this resource is that it draws upon the knowledge and experience of not just one person, but an entire world-wide web of mental health professionals. Medications   Very extensive information on most neuropharmacological medications. The Pharmacy: Dr. Koop's Community   This site run by our former Surgeon-General has a good search feature and is geared more towards the general public, with consumer hand-outs listed first before drug interactions, etc. Good for a quick reference or where extensive clinical information is not needed. e-Medicine    Emergency Medicine. Over 650 topics providing detailed information on the diagnosis and management of disorders in emergency settings. An online reference that can be used free-of-charge by medical practitioners and the public, with downloadable color x-rays, illustrations, and pictures. Scroll down to their section on "Medical Topics" to see one of the best hypertext linked medical information texts on the Net.

Hospice Foundation of America   On this site you can learn about hospice care, how to select a hospice and how to locate a hospice near you. You can learn of HFA's programs, read excerpts from the publications, order books and videos and sign up for the annual bereavement teleconference. Growth House   A searchable resource list. Growth House is a San Francisco-based organization whose primary mission is to improve the quality of compassionate care for people who are dying through public education about hospice and home care, palliative care, pain management, death with dignity, bereavement, and related end of life topics. Project on Death in America (PDIA)   A Soros Network foundation to understand and transform the culture and experience of dying and bereavement in the United States. GriefNet   A system that can connect you with a variety of resources related to death, dying, bereavement, and major emotional and physical losses.
