ASK SITE INDEX

We have many topics here relating to ADD, and related learning disabilities!

Quick comment: Welcome to the ASK about ADD WWW site. I update this site as often as possible, and hope you find the information useful. If you have suggestions let me know. You may notice a lack of fancy images on this site. I want you to get to information as fast as possible. As a result we keep the fancy stuff to a minimum. I also think Scouting is a nearly perfect activity for ADD youth. Keep in touch, D. Steven. Ledingham (2/07/98)

 THIS TOPIC IS:

What we have to offer at the ASK about ADD WWW Site!

  • Hello
For those of you who either have Attention Deficit Disorder, or life or work with someone who does, welcome to our ASK about ADD Site This site has been in existence since 1996 when it began as the first web site for the National Attention Deficit Disorder Association. Since that time ADDA has a new site with lots of evolving resources and information.
  • As we approach the year 2000, who know what will be in store for us all, but as usual, we will be excited about the possibilities. (Led, 11/18/99)
  • You can follow this link to the Site for the National Attention Deficit Disorder Association.
  • What can you expect at this site?
Expect the unexpected, a large collection of information on everything ADD, including both the creativity and the chaos that goes with it. OF COURSE you will find information of use to the new person finding out about identifying ADD behaviors, as well as information for those of us who have been around for a while
  • Freedom of expression:
I try to respond quickly to requests for information or posting of current events. I am glad to accept writing from site visitors and will post most anything that is related to Living With ADD as long as it is not disrespectful of some ones views.
  • Help with finding resources:
I've spend years collecting information on books, tapes, videos and ADD-related website to help you find the types of information you may find useful. I am accepting suggestions for new resources, books and web sites, as well as book reviews and things like that.
  • Sharing of our ADD Experiences:
In the last two years, some of the most striking involvement I've had from our site visitors is the submission of personal stories. This began with three or four stories and now is continuing to grow. You really should check this out!
  • Diagnosis and medication:
The first step beyond "Well I think I have ADD because..." is to be tested for a diagnosis. Many people want information on what is involved, where to go and what it costs. I have a few ideas in that direction, but will invite others to share their experience in this area
  • Spirituality and a wellness lifestyle
Many people find a strong belief in the spiritual nature of life to be very helpful in coping successfully with not only ADD, but other life challenges as well. This is the area in which we explore these types of choices.
  • Poetry and writing
I began writing poetry back at the University of Arizona in 1996 when I was the "SYSOP" for our pre-web bulletin board system. As my collection has grown on this site I've added other poems our visitors have sent me.
  • Internet Sites, information for parents, legal info and more
Many other types of information are available on this site, I encourage you to check it out. If you like what you see, tell your friends!
  • Web Heads and computer users
I have links to computer resources, and HTML resources as well. This site has been designed for the faster loading time possible, so you will see only limited graphics here (only if they enhance content or usability) and no frames. All pages are designed to be viewed on 13 and 14 inch monitors and I've tried to provide "ALT" tags to display text where a graphic would be if you are using a text only browser.
