About Life with ADD
The Invisible Fog
What would life be like
if every step you took
every path you choose
every situation you approached
every friend you made
was in a fog?
Perhaps it would seem clear to you
because you could never see the fog
and since you never saw the fog
you could continue to say
it can't be their because I can't see it
but when a friend points it out
you can still deny it because
you don't see it
you live in it, and are a part of it
it has become your friend
you companion
if you could see it
how would it look?
would it be deep and dark
and hard to penetrate
concealing you from all but the strongest
thoughts and activities
if you could feel it
would it block off your hurt feelings
or just your feelings of ambition and striving
of your desire to succeed
and to be more than
your are now?
If someone could describe it
would you listen to their words
or the anger in their voices
or the compassion in their words
or could you see through the fog
to the true meaning in their message?
and if someone told you it didn't have to be that way
would you dare to have hope
to move towards clarity
to leave the old foggy companion behind
and take the strong clear steps
in to the light or your new day
some already have been given this choice
but decide to wait, to hesitate
as if waiting will make things better
as if waiting will do anything
good
at all
Are you ready to control your life
Will you take control
clear away the fog
do whatever it takes
begin today
and let the past remain the past
now is your chance to walk!
