THE CHANGE POEM (Sort of but it keeps changing)

Often I think,
Then again sometimes I don't
Life seems to be a street full of contradictions
and miracles

When you think you know a path
An obstacle appears
And you are nudged to a new direction

The pattern of security
Seems to be an illusion
Designed to gently lull us into complacency
Until we meet another challenge
To force us into action and ongoing change

First you know
And then you don't
The pattern of ongoing growth and change
Whether we want it or not

Oh what a dilemma,
Forced into a world of change, challenge and growth
What's a person to do

Perhaps I should consider
Looking at my life as
my greatest opportunity and
not my hardest task

With this concept in my heart
and in my head,
I might be able to welcome challenge
and growth
And not waste time
fighting change...
and gain time,
by embracing it....
